The Decanter World Wine Awards, one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world, took place between 27th April and 1st May 2015. Over 16.000 wines were entered and then classified and judged by the most famous wine professionals in the world (including 85 Masters of Wine and 23 Master Sommeliers) coming from more than 22 different countries.
The Decanter World Wine Awards owes its fame to the rigorous judging process: wines are organised for tasting by country, region, colour, grape, style, vintage, and price, to ensure that wines are judged in flights against their peers. All the tastings are absolutely blind, in order to give an evaluation as objective as possible. Moreover, judges are recruited only with proven background and knowledge of the region, a necessary precaution for a deep understanding of the peculiarity of a specific wine.
Results will be officially published on Decanter.com on the 14th June when results will be announced at Vinexpo Bordeaux. All the results will be assembled as well in a special issue of the Decanter magazine, available in August.
