“Food for curious minds” is the title of the 26th edition of the Ecsite Annual Conference, the european network involving more than 1.000 scientific communicators coming from over 45 countries and open to professionale operators working in scientific museums, natural science museums, universities, zoo and research institutes, private companies.
The event lasted 3 days, 11-13 June, and included debates, workshops and dynamic meetings: a vaste program (90 sessions and more than 350 speakers) enriched by an area, the business bistrò, where 52 companies exposed their last products and museum solutions.
Ecsite Annual Conference meetings and workshops took place in two unique and close buildings: the MUSE and Trento Fair. The first location is the Science Museum “Muse”, which was opened last July and which is now heart of the new Trento quarter designed by Renzo Piano: an extremely innovative place where nature, science, technology, ethic and sociology are perfectly combined.
SocialMeter monitored the talken-about intensity on Twitter regarding the Ecsite Annual Conference, and collected since now 5211 tweets containing the keywords #Ecsite2015, @Ecsite, @MUSE_Trento, with 686 users involved in the online conversations. The two official accounts have been used almost equally: 53,7% for @Ecsite and 46,3% for @Muse_Trento. The majority of tweets concentrated during the first day (Thursday the 11th at 10.00). Among the most frequently used hashtags we can find: #Ecsite2015 and then #moz, #spa, #gel, regarding some speakers or conference topics. Popularity account: first positions for the two official accounts (@Ecsite e @MUSE_Trento), and then @Feeding5K, the account of the organizations working to fight food and material wastes (feedbackglobal.org).
